Abstract


This article is specifically concerned with citizen identity in ancient Greece—which, it is argued, was in part established through the laws and customs learned in the theatre—limiting the audience's 'agency to think' (a phrase borrowed from and resting on the work of Jacques Rancière). The polemical nature of the arguement was employed in order to spark debate within the ETR forum, a mission of the journal.
